• Fire Alarm Control Panel, in two forms: Addressable or Intelligent Addressable, and Conventional or Multiplex
• Initiating or detection devices (Fire Alarm Detectors), in two kinds: automatic initiating devices and manual initiating devices
• Audible & visual signalling alarm devices, working with the initiating and detection devices described above
Initiating or detection devices tell the control panel that an incident has occurred, after which the system raises the alarm automatically. There are two kinds: automatic initiating devices and manual initiating devices.
• Automatic initiating devices (alarm detectors) detect a fire and signal the control panel automatically. They include smoke detectors, heat detectors, flame detectors and gas detectors.
• Manual call points (manual stations) are switches operated by a person pressing or pulling them. Some types require the glass to be broken first.
The fire alarm control panel is the control unit for the system. It displays the response of the detection devices and sends alarm signals to the various locations set out in the design. Panels come in two forms: Addressable or Intelligent Addressable, and Conventional or Multiplex.
Fire alarm signalling devices pass the signal to the control panel, which then triggers the alarm through the various devices, warning the building occupants so that they can evacuate and the incident can be dealt with. They fall into two broad kinds: audible alarm devices and visual alarm devices.
We have long designed and installed nurse call systems, fire alarm systems
and lightning protection systems for both private companies and government agencies.
They are imported from the United States (USA) and hold UL/FM certification.
Two: Addressable or Intelligent Addressable, and Conventional or Multiplex. The choice depends on the size and complexity of the building.
Two: automatic initiating devices and manual initiating devices.
Three main groups: fire alarm control panels, initiating or detection devices, and audible and visual signalling alarm devices. Details of each group are in the list at the bottom of this page.
